The state of the union from my viewpoint is that God is sorely missing from the equation. Fear runs rampant. We have become a people who feel that we can legislate morality. This is dangerous because once we have made it a law it becomes easier for the rest of us to judge and complain. It seems that we opt out of entering into relationships and changing hearts, looking to others to change the laws so we don't have to leave our comfort zones. Quite a contrast to a Savior who chooses to leave the glory of heaven and enter into the midst of man's depravity.
