THINGS THAT CONFUSE ME
Facebook is called social networking while it seems that we now spend more time staring at a device than into the eyes of another person.
Churches encourage tithing of 10% to the church but I would venture to guess that most churches spend less than 10% of their budgets in feeding the hungry, giving drink to those who thirst, clothing the naked and visiting the sick and imprisoned; the very things that Christ called us to. So why are they tax exempt? At least the taxes could be used for those things that we fail to do.
Guns have become more important than people. Our excuse is that we must protect our lives. I know a Lord who would rather lose His for those He loves.
Personal wealth has become more important than caring for others through things like healthcare.
Christian women's groups gather over dinner at a country club to discuss candle making and interior decorating.
Those that gather at the table to partake of the bread and the wine seem less compassionate than those who gather in a pub to share a pint and a pretzel.
We join health clubs to work out when we could be mowing our neighbor's grass or shoveling the snow from their walks.
On a similar note wouldn't it be easier to invite more to the table than to try to cut down on portion size as we try to limit our intake while others hunger.
Why do I have so many guitars?
